Charlotte Hopwood
I am an experienced Psychology educator, IB Psychology examiner, and Head of Department with over a decade of experience teaching in leading UK and international schools. I specialise in supporting Sixth Form students through the intellectual and academic demands of advanced Social Science study, with particular expertise in IB Psychology and A Level Psychology.
Alongside my work as Head of Department at one of the top IB schools globally, I previously worked at the highest-performing IB state school in the UK. These experiences have given me extensive insight into what enables students to thrive academically at the highest level.

Through Psych Tutor International, I provide specialist online Psychology tuition for ambitious students seeking exceptional academic outcomes, greater confidence, and expert guidance through challenging curricula.
As an official International Baccalaureate Psychology examiner, I have in-depth understanding of assessment criteria, exam technique, and the common mistakes that prevent students from achieving top grades. My tutoring combines rigorous academic support with highly personalised teaching tailored to each student’s strengths, goals, and learning style.
I support students across a wide range of areas, including:
-
IB Psychology
-
A Level Psychology
-
Internal Assessments (IA)
-
Extended Essays (EE)
-
Exam preparation and revision strategy
-
Critical thinking and essay writing
-
University applications for Social Sciences
-
Oxford and Cambridge interview preparation
-
Personal statement support
My students come from schools across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. Tuition is fully online, allowing students to access expert Psychology support wherever they are in the world.
Alongside academic achievement, I am deeply committed to student wellbeing and sustainable high performance. I am trained as both a primary and secondary mindfulness teacher and qualified as a Mindfulness Lead through the Mindfulness in Schools Project. My work has included research collaboration with the Harvard Human Flourishing Program, exploring the relationship between mindfulness, resilience, focus, and student flourishing in demanding academic environments.
My approach to tutoring is warm, intellectually rigorous, and highly supportive. I believe students achieve their best when they feel challenged, understood, and genuinely confident in their abilities.
When I’m not teaching, I am usually running around after my two young boys. I enjoy travelling to new countries, playing guitar, attending live concerts, and spending time outdoors with my children.
